LIFE IN THE TRENCHES On 20 November 1916, two old age after the Battle of Somme, I walked into the entrenches, smelling a put unfreeze rotten smell at least 420000 of us were killed, maimed or missing. The frontline trenches were around seven feet deep and half a dozen feet across-the-board and it was impossible to see anything from the bottom of it. They could eat mens eyes and livers and grow to the coat of cats. Food was contaminated and disorders were spread. Soldiers attempted to give way rid of them by gunfire and killing them, but rats could reproduce quickly. nevertheless that was not the only problem. Soldiers could not shower for weeks and lice grew in their foetid clothing, which disadvantage like hell.
